Course Length

If is difficult to determine how long each course will take as every person is different. We realise that your time is valuable and try to complete your training at the pace that suits you. The more time you can devote to your training, the faster you will get through it. Completing the course on a full time basis is the best way to achieve your licence as everything is kept fresh in your mind. Listed below is an approximate time guide based on a full time course:

Theory Course 6 Weeks
Commercial Practical Flying 10-12 Weeks
Private Practical Flying 5-6 Weeks

The Sunshine Coast Airport has its own Airservices Supply Shop which stock a basic range of pilot supplies and books.

Aviation Medicals

All students must complete an aviation medical with a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approved medical practitioner. We will be happy to make this appointment for you.

Once you have completed your Commercial Helicopter course, every effort is made to help you obtain work either in the mustering of tourism area.

With such a wide range of contacts made over 32 years in the aviation industry, 90% of our students have been placed in commercial work. 

Upon course completion a free professional aviation resume is written for our students to send to potential employers.

You can start our courses at any time, however we recommend starting with your theory subjects at Advanced Flight Theory.

Completing your helicopter theory course before your commence flying training ensures you receive the maximum benefit from every hour spent in the air.
